Our yearbook - besides the fact that it mainly gives account of the results of cultural research of the Hungarian ethnic in Slovakia - is open for everyone wanting to showcase the folk culture of ethnicities in the Danube-basin. In line with the research priorities of the Ethnologic Research Centre in Komárno, we emphasize the diversified scope of issues found in sacral ethnography, as this ethnographic branch is one of the most neglected both in Hungarian and Slovak reference. Moreover, we stress the importance showcasing the results of the research of interethnic relations, as well as the results of contemporary and alteration studies.

Národný populizmus na Slovensku a slovensko-maďarské vzťahy 2006 – 2009

Politický vývoj v krajinách Strednej Európy po ich pristúpení k Európskej únii nabral zvláštny obrat. Po voľbách v rokoch 2005 a 2006 sa k moci dostali politici, ktorých štýl vyjadrovania, štýl presadzovania politických cieľov a prístup k oponentom bol pre politikov a byrokratov bruselských diplomatických salónov nezvyklý. Analytici, médiá, občianski aktivisti začali hovoriť o nástupe nového populizmu. Začala sa éra skúmania nového fenoménu: vznikali nespočetné publikácie, organizovali sa konferencie, semináre, diskusie na tému populizmu, jeho teoretického uchopenia, popisu jeho pôsobenia, mechanizmov fungovania, vplyvu na voličov.

Prínos tejto publikácie, ktorá je produktom projektu Fórum inštitútu pre výskum menšín v Šamoríne s názvom Národný populizmus a interetnické vzťahy na Slovensku, nemá spočívať len v teoretickom diskurze.

A 20. században létrejött közép-európai soknemzetiségű nemzetállamok társadalmai 1918 és 1989 között – az egymást váltogató politikai rendszerek, valamint a modernizációs kihívások hatására – radikálisan átalakultak. Mindez nemcsak országos szinten éreztette hatását, de kihatott a lokális közösségek gazdasági, társadalmi, kulturális életére, etnikai, nyelvi viszonyaira is. A dél-szlovákiai magyar többségű kisrégiókat különösen érzékenyen érintették ezek a folyamatok. Megváltoztak a tulajdonviszonyok, és a birtokaikat veszítők egy része szülőföldje elhagyására kényszerült. Új népcsoportok jelentek meg és velük együtt módosult a falvak nyelvi karaktere. A föld- és közigazgatási reformok, az időről időre felerősödő asszimilációs, migrációs nyomás, a kényszertelepítések, a megkésett és részleges iparosítás következményei tovább mélyítették ezeket a változásokat.

Kötetünk Dél-Szlovákia zömében magyarlakta vidékein ma is megtalálható vagy egykor létezett olyan emlékjeleket mutatja be, amelyek közvetlenül vagy közvetve kötődnek az első és második világháborúhoz, s abból a célból állíttattak, hogy e két világégés során életüket vesztett személyek emlékét – az elesett katonák és polgári áldozatokét egyaránt – megőrizzék. A háborúk jelei kategóriájába értendőek a különféle emlékművek, emléktáblák, továbbá a szakrális kisemlékek közé sorolható emlékjelek (keresztek, feszületek, szentek szobrai, haranglábak, harangok, kápolnák stb.), kopjafák/emlékoszlopok, illetve a háború áldozatainak sírjelei. E sokrétű emlékcsoport bemu tatására a szerző egyrészt saját terepkutatásai, másrészt a korabeli helyi, regionális és országos sajtó áttanulmányozása során nyert adatokra támaszkodva vállalkozott. A gazdag dokumentumgyűjtemény a téma iránt érdeklődő laikus és szakmabéli olvasó érdeklődésére is számot tarthat.
